Ideas...

I have decided to focus on forecasting for 2013, aiming to create two trends for Spring Summer 2013 and two trends for Autumn Winter '13/14.

So far i have decided to base my trends on...

- The Solar Flare Warning that could disrupt out electronics and set us back 100years, predicted to happen July 2013.

- The Remake of the film Dirty Dancing due to arrive on our screens at some point in 2013.

- How the Middle Class are stuck within the economic climate. The rich are staying rich the poor are getting poorer and the middle class are frozen in the middle. I want to expand on the idea of Stuck in Time.

- Control. This is still a working progress however at the moment i am thinking of looking at Abuse whether that be Domestic or Child Abuse, to influence a clothing trend.

Trend

This week i have started begun the next chapter of my final year.

'Threads' is a trend project. I have to come up with and create 4 trends for any season of my choice, from this i will have to choose one to focus on and create a lookbook, as a final outcome.

Brand Creation and Identity

Third Year is here....

So far this year i have started a branding project, answering questions of Eco Clothing.

I have decided to focus on Changing Consumer Perceptions of what an Eco Clothing brand is, what it looks like and what products it sells.

I am creating a brand that from the outside doesn't look "ECO", i want it to look high end high street.
I am aiming it towards 35-45year old women, as i believe that, that age group are more emotionally and financially able to get behind the concept of the brand, and influence their perception of environmentally friendly garments.

University

Back to uni at the end of this month, still debating which path to take within the third year, and what to base my dissertation on...

Work Experience

I am currently on work experience at Benjamin Roberts in Swansea.

I am covering everything from alteration, to Marketing and i am really enjoying an insite to the industry.
